Soft-Soled Shoes
There are lots of reasons why you should put your baby’s feet in soft-soled leather shoes. The first reason is because they are so cute. They come in all colors and styles to suit your or your baby’s personality. Once you get past the cuteness, you will find lots of practical reasons to use soft shoes. Soft shoes usually have either suede or soft rubber on the bottom, making them great at preventing slipping. Real leather breathes, making them cool in summer and warm in winter. Leather shoes slip on easily, but are almost impossible for baby to pull off. So, not only do the shoes stay on, but so do the socks. Shoes with a suede sole may be machine or hand-washed. Recently, pediatricians have been recommending soft-soled shoes because their flexibility will allow your child’s foot to move easily and grow properly. They are also great for babies who are learning to walk because they aren’t stiff and allow the baby’s foot to flex naturally. They are almost like walking barefoot, but give the child a little protection too. Shoes with a rubber sole provide similar flexibility to the new walker, but they also offer a bit more protection and are great for outdoors.
